This brush is intended for cats. I dont have a cat. When I ordered this brush I had my dogs in mind, I have 3 dogs, a chihuahua, a shih tzu and a chihuahua/shih tzu mix. The chihuahua and the mix both have thin hair one long and one short. They hate the hard dog brushes. They are hard on their skin. My shih tzu usually has long hair in the winter and we have it cut for summer. During the summer she prefers to be groomed with something softer like this. They all love this brush. My shih tzu had to have her fur brushed while I was trying to take photos for this review. The chihuahua and the mix shed quiet a bit so this was nice to use on them. I had no idea that they had that much lose hair on them. My shih tzu doesn't shed very much but I did get a little off of her. I really like this brush, it doesnt pull their fur and it gets all of the lose hair off of them. It fits in my hand nicely and its really easy clean and its a perfect size for small dogs.
